Good Day!

This posting is about the benefits that can be derived by deploying a CMS.

In the next posting I will show you a few websites that employ CMSes. You can get the feel of the dynamism that CMSes produce by examining these sites.

now, everybody can be a yoda

In the olden days and a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, webmasters used to rule the website space. Every changes have to go through these Yodas. You have to wait until they have the time to take your change requests.

With the advent of new frameworks that separate content from design, non-techies are now able to place content in websites without the help of Yodas.

You too can now be a Yoda.

That’s quite revolutionary in terms of speed of managing content and gaining competitive edge.

What I like most about deploying a CMS is that it gives me total control as to how I want to use my website. Not only can I plan and upload content, I can also do other things such as managing my customers’ data, plan for promotions and events, and many more. I can shape my own opinion and tailor how I want people to look and think about me. I can do this branding stuff and shape my destiny.

CMS is a strategic tool

Imagine when you have internet, intranet, and extranet in one suite (Fig. 1). Could you ask for more?

Sure, my competitors deploy it too. But hey, I can swing my bat different than they swing theirs.

benefits of CMS from four perspectives

I have segregated these high level benefits into four groupings as per 1G Balance Score Card format (nothing fancy, it’s just a yardstick for a basic corporate performance measurement, guide to thinking).

Detailed explanations can be found in the write-up.
